Snow Day #2 boredom...

Cabin Fever from this snow is killing me. I have watched commentary to Twilight movies, too much Family Guy and pretty much cleaned out the dvr. I think next up is Nurse Jackie season 1.  To make this boredom a little better here are a freebie, an awesome site, and one of my favorite sites.

Swagbucks: I have gotten about $20 or $30 in Amazon credit from Swagbucks strictly by using it as a search engine and occasionally using the toolbar and doing surveys. You can sign up through my link and help me out by giving me referral credit while you earn points yourself. There is a wide variety of swag prizes you can earn, including games, gift cards, posters, and lots of other fun things. I'm a fan of the Amazon gift cards because they are cheap and I'm an Amazonaholic.  Their search engine is, in my opinion, tons better than Google because they don't give you as much junk responses as Google does. So go check it out, I'm sure you will love it as much as I do.

thepaws.com: Currently giving away a free pet toy when you sign up. If you refer someone to the site you can get a $5 credit when they sign up. Sammy loves toys AND free stuff, so he is super excited.

Couponing to Disney: This site is my favorite! It is all about how to coupon to save the money for soemthing you love or want to do (such as save for a trip to Disney). Kristin gives great money saving tips and has links to freebies and coupons. One thing that she does that I love is her 5-A-Days, where she post 5 companies to e-mail compliments and/or complaints about their products. Most of these companies will respond with coupons or samples.  I have just started going through her spreadsheet e-mailing companies.

The best thing ever?

So when I cook I loosely follow recipes. I just throw in whatever sounds and smell good. A few weeks ago Alex wanted chili, yet insisted it have macaroni noodles in it. Yeah, I do not understand the macaroni noodles, if you do noodles with chili you go for the Cincinnati chili route, but that's what he wanted so that's what I did. Jeremy and Amanda came over and brought fritos to add to it. And it turned out ok.  So today I decided I wanted a challenge and to try it again. So I made the rest of the macaroni noodles, put 4 cans of tomato paste, 4 cans of water, chili seasoning and Alex threw in some spices (I was chopping onions and missed the spices) in the big pot. I decided this time to add corn and tomato chucks with chopped onions and fresh garlic.  After I put it in bowls I added cheese to the top. It turned out better today (although the fritos were missed).  I think next time I may try to quirk it some more, but it's pretty good. I do feel like I should go chew about 30 tums so I can live through this weekend, but it was worth it.
I took a picture so here it is:

The coloring looks a bit off thanks to my awesome hot pink bowl and the sunlight.

On a side note, it looks like I'm going to go be an old lady and play bingo tonight. So wish me luck that I might actually win some money. We need it.

Well off to finish watching the Pitt-UK bowl game. UK is getting stomped, probably because I chose to be nice and show spirit and wear a UK tank/was too lazy to find any other tank to wear. Go Cats.

2011

Things I want for 2011
1. Continue with the awesome fast we are doing for Momentum Church. We can chose how we want to fast but are fasting for 21 days. Alex and I are doing a No Fast Food/Eating Out and No meat fast. We are only eating healthy foods (should NOT have bought out Kmart on Dec. 26 of their last 4 boxes of Chocolate Covered Cherries, they keep yelling at me). So far we have been doing good minus that I made homemade pizza tonight and put pepperoni on it without thinking. I'm super excited and am planning on keeping track of how much money we spend on groceries to see the amount we save without eating out. After the fast, I would LOVE to continue to
2. Keeping track of expenses. I have some financial workbooks I got from a lady on Freecycle so I'm starting with those and am going to keep track of everything. Please feel free to ask me how I'm doing periodically (or weekly haha). I really want to be able to see where our money goes and be able to start saving some more money.
3. Get back into shape. I can't walk a block without getting winded anymore. SO thanks to Xbox Kinect I plan to get back in shape a few dances on Dance Central at a time.
4. Become less of a hoarder and more of a cleaner. I cleaned the living room a few days ago (well most of it, I still need to find the coffee table) and we have mail and newspapers that should have been thrown out months ago. So my plan is that my Saturdays off will be cleaning days and we will not have mail for "Mary Geary" laying around.  And if you know Mary Geary, please tell her to have AARP, Medicare and all other elder people companies to stop sending her mail to our house. Thanks.

That's pretty much all I can handle for one year. I hope to get more crafting done this year, I have yards and yards of fabric to make things.  I'm almost sick of looking at the fabric!

OH! And I want to update this more often. It feels good to vent sometimes. And looking back at old posts (like the Jesus fish post) makes me laugh :)

Well good night and go Bucks! Awesome win last night!
